What does it take to design, build, and launch a dispatch management system in just six months? This presentation offers a deep dive into the technical and collaborative practices like Scrum and Lean Startup that enabled us to deliver an efficient, working solution to a small organization’s business-critical problem.
A small but rapidly growing tourism experience business based in Marrakesh, Morocco, was struggling at coping with demand from customers, and critically needed to upgrade their operations management from a spreadsheet and hours of WhatsApp exchanges to a smoother, slicker solution to the problem: “Who is available and the best person to take this booking and give our customers an exceptional experience?”.
This is a real-world story of applying Agile practices under tight timelines and navigating remote teamwork to deliver a high-impact, urgently needed system, leveraging in particular Agile practices from Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), and Lean Startup and putting design and development in very close collaboration.
