Dealing With Middle Management in Scrum

When companies transition to Agile, it is not too difficult to find new roles for member of the current software development teams. Finding a place for middle management in the new organization is not so easy and some people even advocates to get rid of them. In this blog post, Em Campbell-Pretty brings her own middle management perspective to this discussion.

She discusses the fact that middle management wouldn’t block change, but would actually be the people leading the change successfully. It will be difficult to have Agile teams if middle managers do not share the same values like transparency for instance. In her experience, middle managers are the people that can support and drive the change to Agile.
